About The Solo Traveler

To the Solo Traveler:  Go where you want, when you want, for as long as you want.

I started this journey of solo traveling back in 2016, after the divorce of a 22-year marriage.  I traveled by myself before, when I in high school and college, taking the occasional road trip.  Back then, I was limited on travel as I was limited on resources.  Now, that I am in my prime (I am older…lol), I have resources, my health, and a passion for life, so I just want to see the world.  Most of my travel is solo because others do not have the time, the resources, and/or the desire to see and do what I want to see and do, so, I go by myself.  I find being a solo traveler has so many benefits, as with my mantra, I can go where I want, when I want, for as long as I want.  No one waiting on me, no one being bored at my many hours of gazing into the sea, no one rushing me to get to the next thing.  I can take as long or as short of a time for each and every moment.

Now, that is not to say I do not welcome the company, of course, I enjoy traveling with others.  I am just saying, if I waited for others to join me, most likely, I would go nowhere.  I do have a few friends or family members that indeed, do and have joined me on some of my adventures.  You will get to see them throughout my posts, but this page, is truly for the older, solo traveler who wants to enjoy life in faraway places, but may be afraid to experience it.  I am writing to you, from a female perspective, letting you know, being a solo traveler has been an amazing experience over these last four years, and I have no plans of slowing down.  You can do it too.

I hope you enjoy the articles, the pictures, the destinations.  I have been around the world, literally, and will hope to share a bit about each trip.  As I go on new trips, will share the highlights, but will also start sharing past trips that you may have never dreamed of.  I hope to inspire you, motivate you, draw your passion out for a globe traveling life.

Please post your positive comments of feedback.  Have you been to the same destination?  What did you most enjoy about it?  Where would you like to go that you haven’t been yet?  Maybe I have been there and can give you some tips?  If I haven’t gone, maybe I will go and report back to you.  I hope to make this place a positive channel for all solo travelers.  To provide education, tips, or not-so-touristy must sees.

Sincerely,

Alli L
